They are more than just bands. They are not “some tattooed emo guys and girls”. Their songs are not “screamo trash” or “depressing and emo sounding”. Those people are our heros; our idols. Those people have saved millions and millions of people all over the world. Their lyrics touch us in a way that can’t be described. That sense of comfort you feel when you hear those words that tell you you are not alone. Their personalities remind us to keep fighting and that it will be worth it in the end. They’re there for us through their music when no one else is. We stand by them in their successes, their failures, their happy times, and their hard times. We’re all a family. They’re beautiful people, each and every one of them. They remind us that we too are worth so much more than we credit ourselves to. They make us smile when we want to escape. They make us laugh, cry, and scream their lyrics at the top of our lungs. They’re not just bands. They’re our bands.
